Crank Them Out
The R'S Preprofiling machine is designed to remove a significant amount of cane from the bark side of the cane, making profiling and shaping considerably easier.
With the bark removed, the profiling machine is able to precisely bring the soundbox, blade, and tail of the reed down to finished measurements.
Simply place the cane onto the bed of the machine.
Turn the crank and watch as the cane is pushed through the straight blade, removing the bark and a significant amount of excess cane. The thickness is adjustable by placing the included washers under the blade.
The small blades on the side will trim excess cane in order to reduce the amount of cane removed during the shaping process. The width of these blades is adjustable.
